Walkathon 2018

In an effort to keep tuition affordable for our families while enhancing our rigorous programs to meet our students’ changing needs, St. Victor School holds an annual walkathon. This year, in collaboration with our local business and community partners, St. Victor School invites all students, parish and school families, faculty, and staff to participate in our annual walkathon on Thursday, May 24.

 

What is it for?
 

Proceeds from the walkathon will fund art, music, and literacy programs for all grades, as well as our tuition assistance fund. Students and families are richer because of these programs. We will also partner with our St. Vincent de Paul Society for their community outreach efforts. As a community, we believe these robust programs at St. Victor provide our students with every opportunity to be better prepared for high school and beyond. Walkathon funds will assist with:

 

  • Defraying the cost of field trips

  • Purchasing a keyboard for music class

  • Building a Guided Reading library and supplementing classroom libraries

  • Growing our Tuition Assistance Fund

  • St. Vincent de Paul’s service project needs

 

When is the walk?

 

Everyone is welcome to walk with us on Thursday, May 24! All students, parents, siblings, faculty, staff, parish families, neighbors and friends of St. Victor are encouraged to participate. Human walkers only - no pets please! Students, faculty and staff will begin during school hours, and then friends and family can join us after 3:30 PM.

 

What is our fundraising goal?

 

Our school goal is $12,000. Donations can be large or small. Whatever money students and families are able to raise will be greatly appreciated by the entire school community. Each student will be asked to set a goal of $60 to reach our target.

 

How does it work?
 

The process is simple! Students will ask people to be sponsors.

  • A sponsorship is a single, flat donation. It is not based on laps or minutes around the track.

  • Anyone can be a sponsor. Our students have been sponsored by grandparents, parents, godparents, parents' co-workers and business associates, neighbors, and friends. Please do not go door-to-door without an accompanying adult.

  • Other options for Walkathon payments are by checks payable to "St. Victor School" or PayPal.


When is the donation deadline?
 

  • All business sponsorships are due on Friday, May 18.

  • To be counted for student prizes, all donations must be submitted by 8 AM on Monday, May 28.

  • All online gifts will be accepted until end of day Thursday, May 31.

 

What are the prizes?

  • Classes with the highest participation (by percentage) and most funds raised will win a Movie Party.

  • Students in each class who raise the most money will be awarded a pass of their choice, Free Dress or No Homework.

  • All students who raise $150 or more by May 21 will participate in the Dollar Long Jump at the Tuesday Assembly the next day.

  • If we reach our school goal of $12,000, Mrs. Wolf will be greeting students one day as a unicorn!
